Diane Cornell is the Associate Vice President of Patient Care Services and Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Community Memorial Hospital, where she oversees adult inpatient nursing services. With more than three decades in nursing, she brings deep clinical expertise to her leadership role, while her more recent work has focused on strengthening the healthcare workforce by identifying, mentoring, and developing local talent.

Diane is passionate about creating opportunities for people to grow, particularly those who may not always recognize their own potential. She believes strong organizations and strong communities are built through relationships, collaboration, and investment in people. She is also an advocate for wellness, professional fulfillment, and creating environments where people can thrive personally and professionally.

Diane recently earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice, completing a scholarly project focused on improving sepsis care through nurse-driven clinical assessment and evidence-based practice. The experience reflects her commitment to lifelong learning and to translating evidence into practical improvements that strengthen nursing practice, patient outcomes, and the healthcare system as a whole.

A longtime member of the Ventura County healthcare community, Diane values genuine connection and enjoys bringing people together across professions, industries, and backgrounds. She joined VCPWN to expand those connections, learn from other accomplished women in the community, and contribute to a network that supports women in building meaningful careers, relationships, and lives.
