VCPWN 2010 Annual Report

2010 President’s Annual Report, presented at the May 13, 2010 general meeting
What this leadership team has accomplished over the past year:
• A highly successful Business Expo
• President’s tea party – navigators and board members met to brainstorm
• Executive board members and Committee chairs were rewarded with a free membership for the year (co-chairs split)
• Began community outreach in small ways by giving our share of the 50/50 drawing to a charity of the meeting sponsors’ choice, and we voted to plus make up the donation to $100

Charities benefited:
    • Tender Life Maternity Home
    • Food Share
    • Charity to aid Haitian earthquake victims
    • Donna Brodie, who lost everything recently in a devastating fire

• All VCPWN members were encouraged to participate on a committee – several answered that call
• Reinstated the guest orientation to encourage interested people to join
• Replaced the Blue Book with a new business card holder
• Began presenting our guest speakers with the ne business card holder containing cards of attendees, along with a gift card.
• Created a beautiful new presentation folder to upgrade our professionalism.
• Purchased a cool new roll up sign for meetings and events.
• Formed a strategic alliance with NAWBO and are in the process of forming one with WEV
• The year ended with money in the bank, a happy improvement.

This has been an outstanding team. I have personally enjoyed working with every one of them and appreciate the time and energy they have put into the organization: Rita Frayer, Lynn Ryder, Jim Nicoll, Laureen Lazzaro, Carol Powell, Tony Mitchell, Linda McCarthy, Mary Gabriels, Darian Larsen, Phyllis Brown, Donna Grossman, Gale Dyson
